Le borse di studio possono essere svolte presso la sede centrale GARR di Roma o, presso un ente parte della comunità GARR che sia interessato ad ospitare il borsista e fargli svolgere un progetto di ricerca su temi relativi a infrastrutture e servizi di rete e cloud, infrastrutture digitali e temi collegati. Questa seconda opzione potrebbe essere quella più interessante per sviluppare un progettto di ricerca specifico per Elixir.

Le borse di studio sono aperte a giovani entro i 30 anni in possesso di laurea triennale o specialistica. Sono compatibili con l'iscrizione a un corso di laurea specialistica e con il dottorato (purchè senza borsa).

PhD student positions in RNA bioinformatics / computational modeling / software development




IIMCB in Warsaw offers fellowships for PhD students, to work on exciting projects focused on computational modeling and design of RNA 3D structure.

In particular we are looking for talented theoreticians/computer programmers to work with us on the development of innovative software for flexible modeling of RNA 3D structure and its interactions with other molecules.

This advertisement is for several positions. Individual projects may range from pure software development to interdisciplinary combination of computational modeling with experimental analyses.

We are open for applications with candidates in background in bioinformatics, computer science, theoretical chemistry, theoretical physics, etc. Previous work on RNA bioinformatics, molecular modeling, simulations etc. will be an advantage, but is not absolutely essential.

One PhD student position and one postdoctoral position are available immediately in the group of Bojan Zagrovic (Max F. Perutz Laboratories and University of Vienna) at the Vienna Biocenter Campus in Vienna, Austria for work on computational analysis of RNA-protein interactions. Candidates for the PhD student position should have a background in molecular biology, chemistry, physics, computer science or a related discipline and an interest in molecular dynamics simulations, computational structure modeling and structural bioinformatics.
Candidates for the postdoctoral position should have a significant track record in the area of physicochemical modeling and computational analysis of biomolecular systems.

IRCCS Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza – Bioinformatics lab is seeking one talented bioinformatician (Rome)

The bioinformatics unit at IRCCS Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza (CSS) is looking for one young bioinformatician with advanced experience and skills in scientific programming.
The candidate will work closely with the diagnostic departments of CSS and will be in charge of managing and analyzing whole exome, targeted resequencing, SNP array, gene and miRNA expression data. This task will partly require the development and maintenance of ad-hoc, standalone and web-based, software pipelines.
The candidate will also be involved in groundbreaking cancer research projects, in the implementation of MitImpact (http://mitimpact.css-mendel.it/) and in the design and implementation of Dedalus, a high-performance framework for the analysis of biological networks (http://goo.gl/lINIUz).
